Want to avoid the holiday weight gain? Try some of these simple tips!

-Eat your meals on a smaller plate.

-Once you fill your plate, take a picture with your smartphone phone. Sometimes pictures give a different perspective.

-Eat plenty of protein. Protein will fill you up and keep you full longer.

-Holiday meals at multiple places? Eat your meal at one house and dessert at another.

-Wait 20 minutes before refilling your plate. By that time your brain is sending the signal to your stomach that you are full.

-Have a sweet tooth? Don't deny yourself. Eat slowly 3 bites of your favorite treat. You will find your cravings are satisfied.

-And don't forget just because the gym may be closed doesn't mean you can't exercise. Grab the family and go for a walk!
